What is the difference between CRI and Ra?

A color rendering index (CRI) is a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reveal the colors of various objects faithfully in comparison with an ideal or natural light source.

Just mentioned in post: What parameters you should know before choosing LED strip lights? The CRI/Ra is used to describe how close the light source’ quality to Sunlight quality.

CRI testing colors

The CRI testing 15 colors as the left picture shows, from TCS01 to TCS15, however they are indicate as R1 to R15 in most of the testing reports, as below:

Color Rendering Index CRI

Then, what is the difference between the CRI and Ra?
CRI = average(SUM(R1:R15)) While Ra=average(SUM(R1:R8))
So, actually the CRI≠Ra, in most of cases, the Ra is used to instead of CRI, in the testing reports, although it shows all of the value from R1 to R15, but it using Ra instead of CRI.

MEKONG LIGHT could do CRI > 95 not only Ra > 95 since 2016.
